  The “Cycling Without Age” initiative was founded in 2012 in Denmark to combat loneliness and increase mobility for the elderly (www.cyclingwithoutage.org). Volunteer 'trishaw' pilots take residents from retirement and care homes, and those who can no longer ride a bike themselves on a free trishaw trip, based on the principle “everyone has a right to feel the wind in their hair.”

  The Economy for the Common Good (ECG) is an association dedicated to establishing an alternative economic model beneficial for all. The ECG believes that economic activity should prioritize the wellbeing of people and the planet to help bring about a fairer, more sustainable economy. The organization prioritizes democratic values enshrined in law, such as human dignity, solidarity and social justice, environmental sustainability as well as transparency and co-determination. All members work on a voluntary basis. The Basel Regional group is looking for volunteers, for example, to organize public film nights with a panel discussion, help manage social media channels or plan events to inform people about the Common Good Balance Sheet. Volunteers can help in several different areas according to their individual interests.

  It’s important that contacts are maintained, but nonetheless important is to network: Together with schools, school administrators and teachers in Ticino, the youth shall be promoted. To accomplish this, they can benefit from the program "Personal Economics" of YES, where students deal with topics such as the economy, society and the environment. The program is made up of various modules that can be chosen according to interest. For example, in the "Money Management" module, students learn to plan personal budgets and become aware of their role as consumers. Whereas in the "Job Application Process" module, they are prepared for the job search by practicing job interviews with experienced business people from the economy. As part of an assignment, volunteers bring their own experiences from the world of work to the classroom and pass on their knowledge to the young people – shaping the future of tomorrow.

  The Association for the Promotion of the Economy for the Common Good (ECG) Switzerland is committed to sustainable business practices based on the values of human dignity, ecological responsibility, solidarity, social justice, democratic co-determination and transparency. Part of the approach of the Economy for the Common Good is to give active and interested parties the tools and knowledge to help them commit to using their financial resources sustainably and democratically. The seminar “Money and Democracy” by Pioneers of Change + Christian Felber and specific guidelines both serve this purpose. A series of webinars is planned together with the creation of web-based documents. We are looking for volunteers who want to work on the new concept and contribute their knowledge within the framework of the Association for the Promotion of the Economy for the Common Good Switzerland, which is part of the international movement “Economy for the Common Good.”
