The high number of deer in mountain forests in the Grisons makes it difficult for young trees to grow. An entire generation of trees is often lost; in times of climate change, these are crucial for natural regeneration and a healthy forest structure. Damage caused by bark beetles has also created a lot of open space. With your help, wildlife fences will be erected to protect areas where climate-adapted tree species will be planted. Over the course of three eventful days, you will get to know the mountain forest habitat and enjoy local farmhouse specialties.

Help remove undergrowth from the fields on the beautifully-situated Alp Ozur, high above the Albula valley. The farmers and Alpine staff will be grateful for your support, as the amount of manual work required exceeds their capacities. You will get to know Parc Ela, expand your knowledge of ecological relationships and enjoy some regional delicacies. You can spend the night in a rustic Alpine hut or your own tent.

The Neeracherried is a natural habitat for countless animals and plants – it contains populations of national importance and has more than 450 documented plant species. But these native populations are being increasingly threatened by invasive plants that have been introduced to the region. Unless we take measures to protect them, newcomers like golden rod could completely overwhelm weaker native species like orchids. It is not enough to regularly mow the reed meadows. The only way to preserve biodiversity effectively is by pulling out invasive plants by their roots.
