Inspire the youth with the programme Our Community of Young Enterprise Switzerland (YES). First, we offer you a short training course to become a YES volunteer. Then you can get to work close with young people right in their classroom! Thanks to our available programme, you will teach 5 lessons that will take the students (9-10 years old) on a journey through a fictitious community to discover, in an interactive and playful way, the functioning of the economy and life in society. We need your professional experience to offer students varied lessons anchored in reality!
Volunteering at YES allows you to support the youth and to have a real positive impact. However, it is also an opportunity to develop new professional skills and access our network of partners and volunteers.
Duration:
- Approximately 3 half-days, including 2 hours of training course
Location:
- In schools located in a perimeter defined by the volunteers (also possible to intervene online)
- Training course in our offices in Zurich or Fribourg or at your place of work
How it will work:
- 2 hours of training course
- Planning of the assignment with the teacher (by phone, email, videoconference or during a preliminary visit to the classroom)
- Assignment in class on 2 to 3 different dates at a rate of 2 to 3 lessons per date
Support:
- YES accompanies you and prepares you for all stages of your volunteer assignment.
- The teacher helps you plan the assignment, is always present in the classroom and is available for any advice or assistance
Tasks:
- Deliver the 5 available lessons of the programme Our Community using YES teaching materials
- Learn about the lessons and the necessary preparation in advance in order to deliver them in a serious, autonomous and interesting way using examples from your daily life
What you'll need:
- Enjoy working with children
- Enjoy sharing knowledge and experience
- Have basic management skills and a good knowledge of the world of work
Note:
- The assignment is done in a private setting and on a voluntary basis: the volunteers represent YES and not their employer.
