World Youth Music Festival Zurich
Young people from all over the world have the opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people. The WJMF 2024 is an event of a lifetime and will be remembered positively by both the participants and the audience.
By performing themselves, listening to others and making music together, the young people experience a respectful, intercultural exchange with each other, an important foundation for a healthy society. We need your help to make this experience possible for the young people.
Duration:
Maximum duration: Thursday, 11 July 2024 to Monday, 15 July 2024
- Each volunteering assignment is divided into four time slots (morning, midday, afternoon, evening).
- Depending on availability, volunteers can choose which time slot they prefer, meaning they can also volunteer on one or more days.
Location:
Zurich city, the exact location will vary depending on the activity.
How it will work:
- Varies depending on the task.
- Volunteers provide their contact details, availability and preferred activities when registering.
Introduction:
- Volunteer orientation events will take place on Saturday, 15 June 2024 or Saturday, 29 June 2024.
- These events will take place at the Zurich Conservatory Music School, Florhofgasse 6, 8001 Zurich.
Support:
Support is provided directly at the relevant location.
Tasks:
Tasks/activities include:
- Orchestra support
- Opening or closing ceremony
- Pageant
- Youth Music Party
What you’ll need:
- You enjoy music and working with young people.
- You’re proactive and able to stand for long periods.
- German an advantage.
Note:
- You’ll receive a staff t-shirt and water bottle, which you can keep after the assignment.

The “World Youth Music Festival Zurich (WJMF)” association lobbies on behalf of young musicians from around the world. Members of the association have close ties with the WJMF – often long-standing – and work on a voluntary basis. A separate organizing committee is convened for the organization of each festival.
