Zurich
Seasonal
Social issues
The Living Museum Zurich is a nonprofit organization and an inclusive studio for people with or without mental health issues. The focus is on creative expression, mutual respect and community participation.
This summer, the Living Museum Zurich is moving its studio from Altstetten to Witikon. To ensure the move is well organized and runs smoothly, we're looking for dedicated volunteers to help.
As part of this volunteer community project, you’ll help pack, pad and label materials, as well as unpack and set up the new studio. You’ll not have to carry heavy boxes or perform other traditional moving tasks.
You’ll be part of a supportive team making sure everything is safely and properly set up at the new site.
Duration:
Assignments run from 1 to 13 July 2026, and are split up as follows:
- Morning: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
- Afternoon: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
A half-day shift is possible.
Location:
Packing: Hardgutstrasse7, 8048 Zurich
Unpacking: Am Guggenberg 8, 8053 Zurich
How it will work:
- On the agreed day, we’ll meet at Hardgutstrasse 7 in Zurich and start the preparations together.
- We’ll begin by touring the current studios and discussing the upcoming tasks. Volunteers will then be assigned to roles that match their abilities and preferences.
Introduction:
Tasks will be assigned on the day of your shift, depending on the current stage of the move. This way, you’ll assist right where help is needed most.
Support:
There will always be a staff member from the Living Museum Zurich on hand during your shift – ready to help, support and join in with the volunteers.
Tasks:
- Sort and organize existing studios
- Make an inventory and pack up materials
- Set up new studios
- Unpack materials and set up the new rooms
- Help coordinate volunteers at the location
What you’ll need:
- Strong organizational skills
- Interest in setting up spaces and hands-on work
Note:
Please wear comfortable and practical clothing suitable for light manual work.
