MUNTERwegs is a mentoring program for children aged 5 to 12.
Would you like to join our project as a mentor for children? We are currently in need of support and so would be grateful to have you on board. MUNTERwegs is a mentoring project that assigns volunteers to children from migrant and non-migrant backgrounds. The program contributes to cultural integration, promotes equal opportunities and enables participants to actively participate in social life. The project takes place at various MUNTERwegs locations and is mainly geared towards children aged between 5 and 12 from migrant backgrounds and vulnerable Swiss families. Volunteers receive support in regular group events and coaching sessions.

Duration:
- The assignment takes place twice yearly from spring and fall
- 2–3 hours every two weeks or twice monthly
- You will meet with your mentee regularly for at least eight months
Location:
Canton Zug (Baar, Rotkreuz, Zug city)
How it will work:
- After an initial interview with MUNTERwegs, you will receive an invitation to our information evening
- The project team looks for a suitable child for you
- You will receive an invitation to an icebreaker evening and then to a meet-and-greet with your MUNTERwegs mentee and their family
- Following an individual discussion with your mentee, you will meet during your free time
- There will be frequent communication with the MUNTERwegs project team
- You will be reimbursed for expenses
Introduction:
MUNTERwegs provides various means of support, such as:
- Icebreaker evenings for new volunteers
- Meet-and-greet sessions
- Opportunities to interact with other mentors in the group / coaching sessions
Support:
- The project team at MUNTERwegs is on hand to provide support throughout the assignment
Tasks:
- As a personal mentor you will support a child aged 5 to 12 during their free time
- Helping them to learn German
- Supporting their integration
- Promoting cultural integration and equal opportunities
- As a mentor, you will act as a friend and teacher to your mentee
What you'll need:
- You enjoy working with children
- You are very empathetic
- You are patient
- You are tolerant of other cultures and moral values
- You have a good knowledge of German
