Entrepreneurship

Access to healthcare is a basic human right and should not be hindered by language barriers. Our core project is a web-based, visual communication aid to help bridge language barriers in patient-doctor communication. To this end, PICTOMED equips healthcare staff with a large number of images illustrating symptoms. For our project to be successful, we need to make the medical profession aware of the challenges and encourage them to use our application. That’s why we engage in public relations, educational and research work in the field of intercultural interpreting in the healthcare sector. Another approach is empowering people with a migration background. This involves familiarizing our target group with how our communication app works.
