Volunteering as a English-German translator for Social Impact

Duration:

The assignment can start immediately or by mutual agreement. Volunteers are asked to commit for at least six months to ensure a sustainable collaboration.

Location:

This is a fully remote volunteering opportunity. Volunteers can work flexibly from any location and coordinate their schedule with the relevant team members.

How it will work:

Following a structured onboarding programme, you will work on translation and proofreading tasks as needed. Assignments are coordinated directly with the responsible team members and can be completed flexibly. 

Introduction:

You will receive a structured onboarding, including an introduction to the Capacity team, relevant tools, working methods and project materials. An official Capacity email account will also be provided.

Support:

Throughout the assignment, you will receive guidance and support from the relevant Capacity team members responsible for each translation request.

Tasks:

• Translate communication and project materials from English into German
• Proofread and improve AI-translated German texts
• Coordinate with relevant team members when required
• Ensure consistent and high-quality communication across materials

What you'll need:

• Excellent written German and English skills (C1/C2 level or native proficiency preferred)
• Reliable internet connection and access to a laptop or similar device
• Independent and organised working style
• Collaborative and proactive mindset
• Interest in refugee integration, migration and equal opportunities in Switzerland
