A cheerful laugh, the smell of fresh paint and the sound of hammers made for a very special atmosphere on the premises of the Eltern & Kind Foundation in Wetzikon recently. A group of dedicated volunteers carried out renovation work there as part of a corporate volunteering project, not just painting walls, but also touching hearts.
The Eltern & Kind Foundation in Wetzikon has a bright new look – thanks to a group of motivated volunteers who have come together as part of a corporate volunteering project. With brushes, screwdrivers and a lot of enthusiasm, they set about renovating the foundation’s premises. The aim was to create an even more beautiful and inviting place for the children to play and learn. “Volunteers contribute valuable time and effort to make our rooms lively and inviting – tasks that are often neglected in everyday life when focusing on childcare. Thanks to UBS Helpetica, we find people who make a big difference with their passion and energy”, explains Nina, the manager of the daycare center.
But it wasn’t just about paint and furniture. During the work, the volunteers had the opportunity to get to know the toddlers at the daycare. The encounters with the curious, cheerful children were a highlight for many. “It was incredibly motivating to see how the children watched us with wide eyes and were happy to see the progress”, says one participant.
For the volunteers, the project was not only an opportunity to do something good, but also a valuable experience as a team. “The day helped us bond even more closely as a team – painting together, laughing and seeing the result at the end was really motivating. It was nice to see how happy the children were about the new colorful walls”, reports one participant enthusiastically.
The project was also a complete success for the company that provided the volunteers. Corporate volunteering shows how meaningful it is to take on social responsibility – not only for society, but also for the company’s culture. Employees returned with a strengthened team spirit and the feeling that they had achieved something meaningful.
The renovated Eltern & Kind Foundation now serves as a symbol of what can be achieved when people come together for a good cause. Because doing good feels good.
