In the eden21 garden, people with and without disabilities work together to grow flowers and herbs for tea. From planting to drying, packaging, and selling, a product is created that offers a unique experience while demonstrating that diversity enriches us all and makes our society stronger.

This project breaks down barriers, highlights individual talents, and proves that collaboration on equal footing is enriching and beneficial for everyone – both within the community and in the marketplace.

Duration:

  • Thursdays or Saturdays, 9:00–16:00
  • Some assignments are dependent on the weather.

Location:

  • In summer: Yamagishi farm, Schneitbergstrasse 12, 8523 Hagenbuch
  • In winter: atelier, Neuwiesenstrasse 69, 8400 Winterthur

How it will work:

During the assignment

  • in summer: you will harvest the flowers in the fields
  • in winter: you will pluck the petals or fill and package the bags of tea

Introduction:

The project leaders are on site to instruct volunteers on their respective tasks.

Support:

The project leaders are on site during the assignment.

Tasks:

  • In summer: harvesting the flowers and spreading them out to dry, weeding, watering
  • In winter: plucking the petals, filling and counting bags, packaging the teas

What you'll need:

  • Enjoy working with plants.
  • Open to interaction with people with disabilities.
  • Willing to try new things.

Note:

  • In summer: no back, arm or knee impairments
  • In winter: no special requirements

The location and tasks are determined according to the season.
