The Stiftung Kind und Eltern operates inclusive daycare centers, which also provide places for children from socially disadvantaged families as well as those with special needs. It works closely with local authorities (Kesb, AOZ, etc.) and offers emergency placements, as well as childcare assistance during official school holidays to working parents, so they can continue to work. A highlight at the Kinderhaus Talstrasse facility are the nature and forest days, which are eagerly attended by the children and the team. Kindergarten children also have the opportunity to continue being looked after by us and can thrive and develop in the Kids’ Club.
The kindergarten is located in an old house in the center of Wetzikon, and some of its walls and surfaces require a fresh coat of paint due to wear and tear from the children. We’re also looking for someone artistically gifted to paint a beautiful, child-friendly artwork on one of our walls, and would love to see more decorations in the kindergarten, which can be designed and decorated by the task force.
2–3 individuals are required per room. The more volunteers we have, the more rooms can be painted and beautifully decorated. We welcome cool and creative ideas for decorations.
This is a meaningful activity for tomorrow’s children, and you will be rewarded with the radiant faces of the children themselves and an open and friendly team who are very grateful for your support.
Duration:
Friday, 23 May 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Location:
Kinderhaus Talstrasse, Wetzikon / ZH.
How it will work:
- 8:30 a.m. Arrival, welcome by management.
- 8:40 a.m. Room inspection, task allocation.
- 9:00 a.m. Collect materials, set up work areas.
- 9:30 a.m. Prepare rooms, cover, tape, complete covering tasks, start painting if possible, start decorating.
- 11:30 a.m Lunch with the children’s group
- 12:30 p.m. Perform work, decorate.
- 3:00 p.m. Complete work, wash materials and tidy up.
- 3:30 p.m. Finish, end of assignment.
Introduction:
The management is on site and explains the tasks to the volunteers.
Support:
Provided by the management and staff of the children’s house and available for questions.
Tasks:
- Prepare rooms, tape off and protect everything
- Position material
- Complete and hang decorations
- Paint walls, possibly with a beautiful “artwork”
- Remove coverings, tidy/wipe down rooms, clean materials
What you’ll need:
- No prior knowledge necessary, just motivation and some manual dexterity.
- The activity can be physically demanding and you may get dirty.
Note:
Wear clothing, a cap and comfortable shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
The Stiftung Kind und Eltern Wetzikon aims to support and ensure supplementary child care and guidance for children from the Canton of Zurich, in particular through its own childcare facilities. The foundation raises awareness among the public, the community and private individuals about issues related to both intra-family and extra-family childcare and can provide a contact and counseling center for children, parents and other caregivers. Special attention is also given to the linguistic, social and cultural integration of the children. The foundation is politically and denominationally neutral.
