Stiftung Züriwerk: Volunteering assignment in the christmas bakery
Wallisellen
Saisonnier
Société
During the pre-Christmas season, your voluntary commitment makes a particularly meaningful contribution. You support our team by operating and monitoring the packaging machine used to carefully wrap Christmas cookies individually. Each year, around 150,000 cookies are packaged in this way, and thanks to your help, they reach customers on time and bring joy to many.
Your engagement goes far beyond practical support. As a socially oriented organisation, we place strong emphasis on inclusion, respect and collaboration. You will work alongside people with cognitive disabilities in a respectful and supportive environment and actively contribute to an inclusive working world. Especially during the busy pre-Christmas period, your involvement helps to ease daily operations and makes social participation tangible.
If you are looking for meaningful voluntary work and would like to achieve visible impact in a short period of time, this assignment offers you the opportunity to take on social responsibility and become part of a dedicated and inclusive team.
Duration:
- We are looking for volunteers who are available to commit for at least one full week between 7 September and 5 December 2026, from Monday to Thursday.
- The week can be freely selected based on availability.
Location:
Stiftung Züriwerk, Schwarzackerstrasse 29, 8304 Wallisellen (entrance at the back of the building)
How it will work:
Monday
08:00 – Welcome and brief introduction to the organisation and our social mission
08:15 – Instruction at the packaging machine, followed by supervised work
12:00 – Lunch break
13:00 – Continuation of the activity
15:30 – End of the working day
Tuesday to Thursday
08:00–15:30 – Supervised work at the packaging machine (including a 1‑hour lunch break)
Introduction:
Your assignment begins on Monday at 8:00 a.m. on site. After a short welcome, you will receive an introduction to the packaging machine and be guided step by step through the process. Before long, you will be actively involved, monitoring the machine and supporting our staff directly during operations.
No advanced technical skills are required. What matters most is attentiveness, reliability and a willingness to support the team. Over the course of the day, you will gain confidence and gradually take on tasks independently. A responsible contact person will always be available should you have any questions.
Your working day ends at 3:30 p.m. You will leave with the rewarding feeling of having made a valuable contribution and actively supported an inclusive and committed team.
Support:
A designated contact person will be available at all times to answer any questions.
Tasks:
Your main responsibility is to monitor the packaging machine and to support and accompany our employees working at the machine.
What you'll need:
Basic technical understanding, patience, a precise way of working, openness and respect in dealing with people, and the willingness to commit to at least four working days.
Note:
Participants must be able to work while standing and are asked to bring work trousers and non-slip shoes.
Success stories:
Be inspired by the success story of last year’s Christmas cookie packaging initiative.
