Put your experience to work where it can make a real difference. As part of a half-day speed-coaching workshop, you’ll support highly qualified job seekers with refugee or migrant backgrounds as they enter the Swiss job market. Your work will help talented professionals highlight their professional strengths, improve their self-presentation and expand their professional network.
Capacity is dedicated to the professional and social integration of qualified migrants and refugees in Switzerland. Participants hold a college degree and have several years of professional experience, but face challenges in accessing the Swiss job market. Your expert coaching will make a tangible contribution to greater equality of opportunity and a more inclusive job market.
During the workshop, you’ll conduct brief coaching sessions, provide constructive feedback on presentation, communication and career profiles and share your experiences from the professional world. It’s not just the participants who benefit. You will improve your coaching and communication skills, strengthen your intercultural abilities and gain new perspectives on diversity and integration.
This opportunity is ideal for employees who want to share their knowledge while making a contribution to society. Together, we create opportunities for people to connect, foster mutual understanding and help bring untapped potential to the attention of the Swiss job market.
Duration:
- One morning or afternoon, approx. 2.5–3.5 hours
- The date will be agreed with your company and aligned with you or your team’s availability
- The session will be followed by a networking reception or group lunch
Location:
The workshop usually takes place at your company premises.
Your company will provide a room that can accommodate 25 to 40 people for the event.
In addition, you will provide either:
- lunch on site after the event, or
- light refreshments after the event, and
- drinks and snacks during breaks to encourage informal networking
How it will work:
- Welcome and introduction: Introduction by you and Capacity, including a brief overview of migration and labor market integration in Switzerland.
- Speed coaching: An introduction to the format, followed by 3 to 4 coaching rounds (depending on the time available) featuring one-on-one conversations between corporate volunteers and Capacity talents (approx. 12 minutes per conversation). Depending on requirements, participants can be matched in advance based on their profiles.
- Reflection and insights: Group discussion about experiences and lessons learned, as well as participation in a short feedback survey.
- Networking: Closing reception or group lunch, organized by you, to further promote personal interaction and networking.
Introduction:
Upon request, information on migration and labor market integration in Switzerland can be provided in advance. No other special preparation is required.
Support:
- A representative from Capacity will serve as the primary point of contact for organizing and conducting the workshop.
- In addition, two to three other Capacity team members help with preparation. They assist with recruiting Capacity talents, matching them with corporate volunteers, introducing and facilitating the workshop and handling follow-up activities. This includes, for example, evaluating feedback surveys, creating social media content or developing other communication materials to document and promote the group activity.
- To ensure a meaningful exchange, we recommend that a representative from the host company’s management – for example, from Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or Hiring Management – briefly welcomes the participants at the beginning and concludes the workshop by sharing personal impressions and insights.
Tasks:
- Participate in 3 to 4 speed-coaching sessions, each with 3 to 4 job seekers with refugee or immigrant backgrounds.
- Provide constructive, honest and respectful feedback on the participants’ professional self-presentation.
- Provide encouragement, practical tips and guidance for the application process and job search in Switzerland.
- Answer participants’ questions about career paths, job applications, industries or everyday work life.
- Where possible, connect participants with your own professional network and highlight opportunities for professional integration.
- Share your own experiences and insights during the final reflection session and complete the brief feedback survey on the workshop.
What you'll need:
We are looking for employees to take part in the speed coaching workshop who meet the following requirements:
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German is a plus but not required.
- Ideally at least six months of professional experience in Switzerland in a specialized or leadership role.
- Preferably an academic background or comparable professional qualifications.
- Willingness to openly share your own professional and life experiences and to engage in an exchange on an equal footing.
- Interest in getting to know and supporting qualified job seekers with refugee or migrant backgrounds.
- Openness to the topics of diversity, migration and labor market integration, as well as the motivation to contribute to a more inclusive labor market in Switzerland.
- A passion for encouraging people, highlighting opportunities and providing valuable guidance for the participants’ career paths.
Dates
- The dates are set jointly at least 2 to 3 months before the speed coaching workshop to allow sufficient time to recruit corporate volunteers and Capacity alumni (job seekers with refugee or immigrant backgrounds).
