The Weerd-Fischergrien is a floodplain of national importance characterized by open areas with ponds.
In addition to rare plants, invasive neophytes also grow here, including imported plant species such as the one-year fleabane. Some of these species can spread rapidly and cause native, non-competitive species to disappear. To combat this problem effectively, they must be removed together with the root before they can seed.
