Education
As a volunteer jury member with J’aime ma Planète, you will assess sustainable school projects as part of the UNESCO-recognized Eco-Schools program. Your contribution: reviewing schools’ sustainability initiatives, providing valuable feedback, and supporting the development of an environmentally conscious, engaged young generation. Your involvement promotes education for sustainable development and makes a real difference for the future of our society.
Duration:
- 2 to 6 hours per school evaluated
- Spread over 2 annual sessions (November to January and April to June)
Location:
Two possible options:
- Remote only - no travel required
- Remote with on-site visit at the school - travel expenses reimbursed
How it will work:
- Analysis of the school’s labelling portfolio (1–2 hours)
- If visit: on-site observation (1.5 hours)
- Completion of the evaluation form (1–2 hours)
Introduction:
An information session (group) or an individual meeting of about 30 minutes presents the Eco-Schools program, the role of the jury, and the details of the assignment. The introduction can be held online or in person, depending on availability.
Support:
Volunteers receive continuous support throughout the labelling process:
A jury guide is provided, specific information is shared for each session, and an online platform is always accessible with all necessary resources and documents (including the jury guide and evaluation forms). A J’aime ma Planète coordinator is available to answer questions and support volunteers.
Tasks:
- Read and evaluate the school portfolios
- Optional: Participate in an on-site visit (if labelling includes a visit and depending on the volunteer’s availability)
- Complete the evaluation form and provide recommendations
What you'll need:
- Access to a computer and an internet connection
- Availability for 2 to 6 hours per file, depending on the evaluation format (remote or with visit)
- Interest in environmental education or sustainability
- Proven knowledge in one or more of the project topics proposed by Eco-Schools (sustainable food, biodiversity, citizenship, waste, water, energy)
