  PICTOMED’s key project is a web-based, non-verbal, visual communication tool to overcome language barriers in doctor-patient-communication. We enable healthcare providers and patients who do not share a common language to communicate with ease, simply by pointing to pictures. We provide over 300 illustrations of medical symptoms. The website app should be interactive, quick and easy to use to guarantee user-friendliness. Our communication tool offers a wide range of application through independence of language and alphabet.

  The Economy for the Common Good (ECG) is an association dedicated to establishing an alternative economic model beneficial for all. The ECG believes that economic activity should prioritize the wellbeing of people and the planet to help bring about a fairer, more sustainable economy. The organization prioritizes democratic values enshrined in law, such as human dignity, solidarity and social justice, environmental sustainability as well as transparency and co-determination. All members work on a voluntary basis. The Basel Regional group is looking for volunteers, for example, to organize public film nights with a panel discussion, help manage social media channels or plan events to inform people about the Common Good Balance Sheet. Volunteers can help in several different areas according to their individual interests.

We are looking for volunteers who can help us design medical illustrations. Well-designed illustrations enable healthcare providers and patients to overcome language barriers. Thereby, providing health equity which allows for social and economical integration of migrants and refugees.

  It’s important that contacts are maintained, but nonetheless important is to network: Together with schools, school administrators and teachers in Ticino, the youth shall be promoted. To accomplish this, they can benefit from the program "Personal Economics" of YES, where students deal with topics such as the economy, society and the environment. The program is made up of various modules that can be chosen according to interest. For example, in the "Money Management" module, students learn to plan personal budgets and become aware of their role as consumers. Whereas in the "Job Application Process" module, they are prepared for the job search by practicing job interviews with experienced business people from the economy. As part of an assignment, volunteers bring their own experiences from the world of work to the classroom and pass on their knowledge to the young people – shaping the future of tomorrow.

  SINGA is dedicated to providing people with refugee and migrant backgrounds with access to knowledge and entrepreneurial opportunities. We guide people every step of the way on the path to independence with programs tailored to each phase of building a business – from coming up with ideas to starting and growing a business. Most participants in our programs are highly qualified holders of F, S and B permits. About 60% are women and 80% are parents who face major barriers to finding work in the Swiss labor market. Many have already spent years looking for the right job without success, or they’re stuck in roles that don’t match their skills – even though they were experienced professionals or business owners back home. As a volunteer at SINGA, you’ll have the opportunity to assist these dedicated individuals on their journey – by mentoring them, connecting them with professionals or offering practical help with daily life. You’ll be helping talented individuals unlock their skills and open up new opportunities for them.

  Eden-Well is a youth empowerment organization equipping 13 to 25-years-olds to become responsible leaders in AI and tech—turning screen time into purpose-driven innovation and real-world impact through building apps, animations, and other digital creations. We offer 1.5h workshops twice a month at our center near Lausanne gare, as well as in schools and other youth organizations. We are looking for a passionate event organizer, who will coordinate participants, instructor, assistants and the project manager, so that everyone has a delightful experience. The event organizer will ensure that advertising reaches as many people as possible, and that all the logistics from workshop registration to apero organization and instructor support goes smoothly. Ideally, the event organizer should connect with participants and help build a community. Support youth aged 13-25, including immigrants, refugees and locals.

• Cycling Without Age Swiss

  The “Cycling Without Age” initiative was founded in 2012 in Denmark to combat loneliness and increase mobility for the elderly (www.cyclingwithoutage.org). Volunteer 'trishaw' pilots take residents from retirement and care homes, and those who can no longer ride a bike themselves on a free trishaw trip, based on the principle “everyone has a right to feel the wind in their hair.”
